WBC Congress Workshops

Congress Workshops

There are three compelling reasons why delegates should apply to attend WBC Irish farm workshops

1. During these workshops you will encounter the wonderful Irish countryside and meet and interact with farm animal vets from practice, research and education as they work and engage in novel herd health veterinary medicine in some of the best beef, suckler and dairy herds in Ireland.

2. Having enjoyed the presentations in the Convention Centre in Dublin at the WBC workshops, you will see both research and practical applications of veterinary sciences in the farm workshops. In particular, we will demonstrate herd management systems for nutrition management, johnes control and mastitis investigation in the Lyons Estate dairy farm. In addition, in the Teagasc beef and suckler farm, we will reveal how to influence fertility through prudent management of the bull, use post mortem material to influence the health of the herd and demonstrate how to investigate herd health issues.

3. The WBC workshops are designed for interaction of all participants and have a strong business sense in terms of the vet’s involvement in maintaining the health of the herd. The main focus will be on sustainability of veterinary practice into the future with the aid of veterinary guidance which will ultimately help to improve farm profitability.
