World Buiatrics Congress 2016 (WBC 2016) Contact WBC 2016
The World’s Premier Cattle Health Congress
July 3rd - 8th 2016 Dublin, Ireland

The top 3 Spots for TweetUps during WBC 2016

After 30 long years the WBC is finally returning to Dublin. Taking place in the Convention Centre, from July 3rd – 8th the congress will last 5 days and will bring together 2,800 delegates and world experts in Cattle Health and production systems from general practice and research scientists.

So, what exactly could 2,800 cattle experts possibly have to talk about? Judging by the extensive scientific programme and quality of abstract submissions we received this year – a lot. But its not the what, it’s the how. Apart from the Social Nights being held in the Guinness Storehouse and the main event, where likeminded individuals, who may or may not know eachother, meet up over say… a coffee?

TweetUps holds the answer. Yes, TweetUps is a thing, and yes, people do use them all over the world to meet people who they have been talking to online. Arranging a meet-up in one in of Dublin’s hotspots allows groups or pairs to meet-up and see some of what Dublin has to offer simultaneously.

So, where exactly are the most ideal locations for a WBC delegate to stop off for a chat and a drink in the heart of Dublin?

Picnic in the park

Green_in_St._Stephens_Green_(1922116424)In the city centre you will never be stuck for food choices. It’s basically foodie paradise. Wether you prefer gourmet sandwiches, or fresh food markets your sure to find the perfect stash for a picnic in the beautiful St. Stephen’s green park. The city centre park is a leafy oasis where many Dubliners head for alfresco lunches. Follow up with a stroll through the Georgian Townhouses or visit the many quirky museums that are in the area.

Fumbally Café

Arrange a TweetUp and make your way to Fumbally café, Dublin’s premier stylish and fun sarahratnercafefumbally7-1024x683café. Fumbally Café offer locally sourced produce served in a welcoming, open plan environment and most favourably Fumballys famous eggs will only cost you a fiver (€5).

There are many attractions and tourist favourites in the area and this is a perfect place for a cuppa and a chat.

The Ferryman

Perhaps the most ideal venue for a TweetUp at WBC as it is located directly across from the Convention Centre. The Ferryman is a traditional, old style Dublin pub that has a wonderful atmosphere and has retained its old world charms. Head across before or after WBC and enjoy one of the best pints of Guinness that Dublin has to offer.
