Getting To and From the Airport
You can get a taxi directly outside Dublin Airport (both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2). Taxi’s to the city central take approximately 20 minutes and cost approximately €25.
A bus service operates from Dublin Airport (both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) that will drop you directly into the city centre. You can see bus times here along with prices for travel.
Dublin Bus operates a public bus service – number 747 – that operates frequently from Dublin Airport into the city centre. Single tickets can be purchased for €6 and return tickets are €10. For more information click here.
Visitors to the capital are encouraged to use the DART, (Dublin Area Rapid Transport), to enjoy stunning views of Dublin Bay and travel out of the city to the numerous fishing villages and towns that are dotted along the coastline. This is a self-service bike rental system which has proven very popular with Dubliners. Irish rail system is the best way to travel throughout Ireland and visit the country. Trains are usually comfortable and punctual by Irish standards. The rail network in Ireland is not very extensive, serving only the larger cities and most major towns.
